Announces the First in a Series of

New Teacher Seminars

(A new teacher is defined as a teacher with one to three years’ experience.)



10/16/12 Tuesday:  Creating a Positive Environment

Meets Standards I & IV

A positive classroom environment is a major component of effective

schools. When students are comfortable in a learning situation,

the likelihood for success is greatly increased. This seminar

will address verbal communication, positive phrasing,

motivation theory, and learner needs. Activities will help participants

to integrate these topics.

Location: John Jay High School, Large Group Instruction Room

Time: 4:15-6:15



The seminars are NYSUT Education Learning and Trust Professional Development workshops.  Each workshop was developed to meet APPR and NYS Teaching Standards and can be used towards the 175 hours requirement.
