Aflac has
a new rider to its Cancer Policy. In addition to the Cancer Policy,
which you may enroll for if you do not have it as yet, is a special
rider onto the policy that includes coverage for Heart Attack, Stroke
and Renal Kidney failure. Remember,
your Health Insurance pays for doctors, hospital and prescriptions.
- Aflac is insurance
for daily living.
- It pays CASH
benefits DIRECTLY to YOU.
- Use your cash
benefits any way you see fit.
Read below for additional information provided to educate yourself and
to protect you and your family during potentially very difficult and
trying times. Remember, your premium is pre-taxed providing you
additional savings.
Reminder:
All current Aflac Cancer Indemnity Plan policy holders are reminded
to take advantage of their annual “Wellness Benefit” in their
policy. This benefit pays you and everyone else on your policy $75
annually for any cancer screening check-up
you have had (for example: a mammogram, PSA test, etc.)
Proper forms for payment can easily be downloaded at Aflac.com.
Note: This is a preventive benefit; a diagnosis of cancer is not required
for this benefit to be payable.

Cancer*
Fact #3:
1 in 5 one people diagnosed with cancer use all or most of their savings
because of the financial cost of dealing with cancer; especially all
the indirect associated costs.
- Aflac provides you
with immediate cash upon diagnosis of cancer - ,000 to start.
Other examples of cash benefits are hospital stay - $300 per day, treatments
- $300 for each chemotherapy or radiation treatment, lodging if hospital
is over 50 miles - $60 per day, bone marrow transplant - $10,000, ambulance
- $120, extended care facility - $100 per day, and the list goes on
and on.
- Use the cash provided
and pay for deductibles, co-pays, out-of-network specialists, travel,
child care, food and any of your living expenses.
- The immediate initial
cash payment will increase by increments of $500 each year (not used)
up to age 65.
- Aflac is not
a reimbursement plan that pays your hospital and doctors bills; your
health insurance plan for the most part does that except for deductibles,
co-pays and out of network specialists.
- Remember! You receive
cash, this is on top of and separate from your health insurance payments
to hospitals and doctors.
- As a member of an association
you receive a group rate on providing you with a tremendous savings
vs. non-group.
- Easy billing through
payroll deduction, flexed using pre-tax dollars over 20 pay periods
(no deductions over summer).
- Afac premiums have
stayed the same, also into your retirement. Where do you know of a premium
not going up each year?
- Receive annually a
check back from Afac for preventative care for each person on your policy!
EARLY DETECTION IS IMPORTMENT! Be pro-active and protect you and
your family using Aflac’s “Wellness Benefit” included in your
policy With advances in cancer treatment and with preventative care,
more and more people will survive cancer. Aflac will pay $75 per calendar
year per covered person for taking one of the following tests: mammogram,
breast ultrasound, Pap smear, ThinPrep, biopsy, flexible sigmoidoscopy,
hemocult stool specimen, chest X-ray, CEA (blood test for colon cancer),
CA125 (blood test for ovarian cancer), PSA (blood test for prostate
cancer), thermography, colonoscopy, or virtual colonoscopy. These tests
must be performed to determine whether cancer exists in a covered person.
Note: This is a preventive benefit; a diagnosis of cancer is not required
for this benefit to be payable.
Heart
Attack, Stroke, and End Stage Renal Kidney Failure
- Aflac provides you
with immediate cash upon diagnosis of heart attack, stroke, or renal
kidney
- failure - $5,000 ($7,500
children)
- The immediate cash
payment payout increases by multiples of $500 each year not used, up
to age 65.
- If benefits have already
been paid due to a diagnosis of heart attack, stroke, or renal kidney
failure Aflac will pay $2,500 on a subsequent event.
- Aflac will pay $240
per day each day for Hospital confinement.
- Aflac will pay $125
per day for treatments such as dialysis, home health care, extended
care, physical therapy, nursing home care, rehabilitation therapy, and
other specified treatments listed in the policy brochure.
- Other benefits are
Ambulance - $250, Transportation (beyond 50 miles) - 50¢ per mile,
Lodging (beyond 50 miles) - $60 per day, Recovery Benefit - $500 per
month, etc.
